The girl with the white scarf was one of my crushes in school days, and that had grown as we shared few nights over the phone. Life moved on after I recognized that it was not love that was the reason for my addiction to the girl with the white scarf. The professional competence examination ate up my three months like a small mice eat up a piece of butter, well it wasn’t the exams that ate up mu butter it was the books that I had to burn my head on.
As suggested by my trainers I tried to put in at least ten solid hours of a day with my books, ended up using around three to four hours a day during the first two months and in the last month where I was told to put in only around eight hours, I put in around ten. I increased around sixteen kilos in sixty days, thanks to Ammi, my friends who made me hog at the fast food centers and my craze for food. I remember one fat guy who ate around three hundred IDLIs at a time, and he said people who can eat what they want and sleep when they wished to, are the happiest people on earth, and I think he was true because I thought I was the next happiest man on earth the first two months of my study holidays. Doha is always a happy place to be.
By the time I landed Calicut for my last month before the exams flagged, the second wish I had other than clearing my exams with good percentage was to reduce my waist size, which had gone up, not coz I was too caring with my body shape, that was of no importance because my girl too is little broad than normal. The only reason was that I could not button any of my jeans and buying new ones are a costly business and that too when you don’t have enough time in your pockets.
I thought it was always important to be free of any tensions and thoughts when you write any examination and especially if it is something to do with the second most tough examination in India. I planned to turn off my mobile phone, and I dialed almost all the important contacts in the country just to apologize for the inconvenience that they would face when they dial me.
I was done ringing almost all the important ones and was left with the girl with the white scarf. I thought I would inform her too, with no second thought I rang this beauty that had made me go crazy in my school days. After few rings the other side answered with a sound that was as sweat as the cuckoo during spring, so crisp so smooth and soft that anyone would love to play it more than once. I was lost in it before my nephew stamped on my toe with his new shoes, showing off the new purchase. We had a small conversation and she asked if I would be in Chennai after my exams and she would want a coffee together, I felt it would be interesting to meet someone after quite some time, and that too someone whom you never would have thought of meeting again in life.
Exams went like a rollercoaster making you feel horrible at the beginning and once you are done with it kick on the ground and ask your self was this all? I and my friend made plans that were had nullity in execution. The first three days after examination were so dry that I begged for exams to happen again, It was later that I was kept busy with the family matters and other illogicalities that any youth would do. Days passed so fast heavy showers and thunder and lightning came and went by the blink of the eye, Sun shined and Ed poured its happiness and charm. It was fun sacrificing the buffalo in the name of the almighty, and equally fun in distributing the meat to people around, and the family day out at the water falls added to the beauty of Ed.
It was one day later, I got a call from the girl with the white scarf, that she had reached Chennai the morning and I thought It would have been the same even if I was present there in Chennai and she would have come, I would not have met her, not because I wouldn’t want to but just because I would have been in office when she would be around and going to the place where she would be lodged would be a big problem. Later in the day she called me asking if she would get to eat MacD in Chennai and then KFC and then Pizza, and I thought she was angry enough to eat me because I couldn’t be there, I asked her for the hotel she was lodged and the name she told me was so familiar that I for few seconds felt that it was something that I see daily and it happened to be the one opposite to my hostel. All that I got from her side was words of anger of not showing up there in time.
Three years before when I walked into Doha airport on the same day she was flying to India forever I wished that her flight was delayed by few hours and we would have been together for some time and now that she has come to my door steps, and walk the street that I walk daily and I am miles away is something that makes me believe in destiny, had she been two days late to Chennai I would have received her at the railway station, but destiny or fate has got something else for us. It might be good or bad that we haven’t met; its your fatom that decides it, for the time being all I can say is that this is one of the best forms of serendipities.

The little kid
Any chance my plane can be canceled??Maybe some natural calamity....or something else? Doesn't matter what as long as my flight gets canceled and i get to go on a different day.
I'm leaving today for India.Going back to college. And here I am fantasizing like a small kid hoping the flight gets canceled. Obviously what i am supposed to be doing is be prepared and excited for going back and getting started all over again. And what do i do??Sit on my bed with my bags all packed, ready to leave within an hour, writing my blog, sulking about going back and still wishing the flight gets canceled by some miracle. Yup. Very mature.
It ain't all that bad. Not really. It's just that the little kid in me doesn't want to leave family and go. We all have a little kid in us somewhere..maybe hidden but it's still there. No matter how old we grow we still want a place called home, someone to hug us and fuss over us. That's how we always feel. But then we realise that we are living in a cruel world where if the little kid shows up too prominently we are going to get nowhere. And with a little sigh we smooth our hair, straighten our shirts and put on a brave face and pretend to act all brave. To face the world and make a life of our own. Just so we can be that little kid when we go back home. That's life. And now i am practicing my brave face. Wish me luck.

The invisible bond
Hey all you bloggers out there.Hope life is treating you as good as it's treating me.I have been doing so much stuff lately, studying and attending my mid-semester exams, celebrating diwali,shopping...etc. I am in Doha right now..my birthplace.Well since i have been here after a long time have been busy. But all this time something kept bugging me..it was like this constant alarm at the back of my mind,a constant thread that kept pulling me,telling me that something was missing. And then i realized what it was..or rather i should say WHO it was..Khansa.
It was like I knew her from the day i was born. Her mother and mine were good friends and neighbors. And my friend Khansa was born 3 months before me. We grew up together, played together, went to the same school and well shared almost everything together. And then my family moved to India. It was another new adventure for us. We made new friends, grew up in different environments. In these years we lost contact but still remembered each other. The constant alarm at the back of my mind would always remind me of her..whether in good times or bad. And then I came back and after all those years met her and I felt grateful to GOD for finally reuniting me with my long lost friend. Unfortunately time and distance had pulled us apart. We were still the same yet our friendship was different. But we couldn't stay that way forever. We got close caught up on all those years. And then we both got busy in our own worlds again. Before long it was time for me to pack and leave. I will be honest. I didn't stay in touch. I got busy with college. And then yesterday i met her again after a long time and it was the same. All the time spent apart and the distance didn't matter anymore.
That's just how it was after i moved away. We were both busy in our worlds. But we always remembered each other. Like an invisible bond pulling us together again. It has never been broken no matter what time zone we were in. And it never will be. No matter where I go and how many friends I make...at the end of the day it is her who matters to the most me. And it's her name that comes to my mind. She is like a sister from another mother. Always close to me no matter what. And it's gonna remain that way.
"When my world is falling apart
When there's no light to break up the dark
That's when i look at you
When the waves are flooding the shore
And I cant find my way home anymore
That's when I look at you"

Here we go again...
Hello everybody sorry i was missing from the scene from quite some time.I'm finally home for the weekend and so getting some time to do all that extra stuff i always liked doing...i.e. spending the whole day on the internet.Haha
College has been a great adventure so far.Meeting new people, seeing a new environment and discovering new things in yourself you never knew you had!Its been great. But sometimes i miss all the solitude. I know it makes me sound like a loner but these are the times i get in touch with myself. Reflect back to the day's happenings and wonder whether i had taken the right decision in every little thing or not.Get in touch with the inner me..if you guys know what that means.
Speaking of which i was talking to my long-time friend the other day and we were discussing our Indian culture. That discussion slowly led to an argument which pretty much lasted throughout the whole conversation. You know like they say there are always three sides in an argument-your side,my side and the right side. Well actually there wasn't much of a side in it just two different opinions on the same topic. What we both agreed on that the western culture was having too much of an influence on our culture. All the harmony and peace was gone. A few people we knew weren't happen with what they were...what they were born as. And we did not like that. What I don't understand is why people do not accept and love themselves the way they are. Why be someone else?Be who you are, love yourself the way you are and only then will you see love all around you. But just because you see a few people around you this way it doesnt mean every single living thing is that way right? What we can do is hope. Close our eyes, fold our hands and pray to God.Pray for sense in this world.Pray for a stop to all the hate and the war.And for peace and harmony. Focus on the positive in this world and get rid of all the pessimism. Because you see there are going to be two sides to everything and they all come down to the basic thing-positive and negative. Be positive. Focus on the good things. Love and you will be loved. Smile people life isnt all that bad:)
Wow its amazing how writing good things and thinking good things will make you happy. It feels great to be back. See you all around
